R&D Manager – Advance and Product Development for AirTech EMEA to Munters

Within the company are the two business areas FoodTech and AirTech. In this role, you will be part of AirTech, a global leader in energy-efficient air treatment for industrial and commercial applications. We offer climate solutions for business-critical processes that require precise control of humidity and temperature, with energy efficiency and a sustainable climate system in focus.

Close to 200 people work at the office in Kista and when you step through the doors you are greeted by newly renovated premises, tailored to the company’s needs. Open office landscapes and meeting rooms are combined with social areas, the opportunity to play a game of ping-pong or sit and socialize on the lovely roof terrace. Next to the office, down a few stairs, is also our new laboratory. Here in Kista, you work together with colleagues in a familiar corporate culture that is often associated with smaller companies, while at the same time you know the possibilities of the big company!

The role
In this role as Manager you will lead and develop the Advance and Product Development groups consisting of around 25 engineers with different competences: mechanical, electrical, calculations (FEM, CFD etc). Advance and Product Development groups have as main responsibilities:
-Develop new solutions with focus on customer value.
-Ensure product design DFX (DFPerformance, DFManufacturing, DFAssembling, DF Services ability).
-Execute product development according to our process: Design, prototyping, verification etc.
-Prepare technical documents (CAD, drawings, tech data sheet, calculations) needed during the different phases of the design process.
-Participate in the technical and innovation road map and projects.
-Support and participate in Continuous Product Improvements.
-Strengthen and improve our knowledge on components and technology.

In your role, you will have a strong collaboration with Group Innovation, Product Management, as well as the rest of the RD team. You will also collaborate with both external and internal parties both in EMEA and internationally, and will have the opportunity to build a large network of contacts.

Key Responsibilities
Besides the responsibilities your groups have, as manager, your responsibilities will also include the following:
-People management: recruitments, developing and coaching staff.
-Planning activities, projects and resources.
-Ensure continuous improvements in your team within processes, procedures etc.
-Budget responsibilities.

Your profile
We are looking for someone who has an engineering education and strong experience in concept and product development as well as innovation. Experience in managing technical teams. You also need to have several years of experience working with product life cycle within a product company.

As a person, you should thrive in a changing environment and with varied tasks where one day is never the same as the other. We see that you are meticulous and detail-focused, but you also see the whole and seek improvement and development. To fit in the role, you also need to have a strong drive and enjoy a lot of communication with external and internal parties.

As English is our corporate language used daily, you need to be fluent in English, spoken and written.
